What is Synergise?
The Synergise program is a 13-week program that focuses on the key habits, skills, and mindsets that ensure you not only make great changes to your health and fitness, but the develop knowledge and know-how to manage this for yourself long term.
The old adage of "teaching a man to fish" has been overused to the point that it's simple message is often overlooked, but it remains one of the key principles of my coaching philosophy and the Synergise program. Providing someone with the tools necessary to no longer need my services doesn't exactly sound like the ideal business model, but nothing brings me more coaching joy than for someone to stand on their own 2 feet, turnaround and say "thanks for everything Adam, but I've got this now mate".
Why 13 weeks?
The program is 13 weeks because it's about how long I think it takes to make some significant changes to their health and fitness habits. Improvements in health, fitness and appearance show in as short as a few weeks, but locking in new habits takes a little longer.
I've found that 6 months is about the sweet spot for achieving most goals, creating great habits, and locking things in for good.
What exactly am i paying for?
You're paying for a proven system that has worked for hundreds of people - adapted for you as an individual, along with some structure, accountability, and genuine care about you and your goals.
Am I going to be living off tuna and broccoli for the next 3 months?
Another of the key criteria of the program is that it fits within the lifestyle of the individual. I'm a firm believer in being able to sit down and eat dinner with the rest of the family, celebrate special occasions without dietary anxiety, and to have a beer or a burger when catching up with mates. They key is to find a plan and a few strategies to make all of this fit together - where you still achieve your goals but don't have to sacrifice everything to get there.
I'd consider myself a generalist in regards to the health and fitness landscape. Over the years I've worked in a variety of roles and with various demographics - from elite athletes to retirees, those looking to lose 50 kilos and those looking to compete in their first body building competition.
Over the past few years my own relationship with exercise has shifted as I do my best to juggle my own health and fitness goals with other priorities - a young family, work, friends, hobbies, etc. This first hand experience has provided me with an insight into the challenges people face, insights a younger me might not have quite understood or appreciated.
My own health and fitness journey is not unique, nor overly interesting. Like many - I was reasonably active as a child, and as a teenager found solace in the weights room to address my own insecurities and teen angst. This eventually led to natural bodybuilding, which I still compete in as I enter my 40's. I'm a guy who loves the journey more than the destination, and for me bodybuilding is one of the ultimate physical expressions of discipline, consistency, accountability, and overcoming obstacles. When I'm not in "competition mode" I live by a much more flexible and sustainable approach with my nutrition and exercise.
For those interested in my qualifications I've collected quite a few over the years. Some of the more relevant include
